Abstract

• West Sumatra's export value in August 2019 reached US$109.03 million, an increase of 3.57 percent compared to exports in July 2019.

• Cumulatively, West Sumatra exports January-August 2019 reached US$823.47 million or decreased by 23.53 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

• The most exported goods categories in August 2019 The largest is animal/vegetable fats & oils amounting to US$78.53 million, followed by the rubber and rubber goods category of US$19.73 million.

• Exports to the United States play a big role 21.03 percent of the total exports of West Sumatra and India 18.82 percent in January-August 2019.

• By sector, exports of processing industry products month August 2019 experienced an increase of 6.62 percent compared to exports in July 2019.

• Value of exports of goods originating from West Sumatra Province which was sent through several ports in Indonesia on August 2019 was recorded at US$110.50 million, down 1.24 percent compared to exports in July 2019.

• Cumulatively the value of exports of goods originating from Sumatra West January-August 2019 reached US$848.04 million or decreased by 20.00 percent compared to the same period last year previously.
