Abstract

• West Sumatra's export value in May 2019 reached US$100.43 million, there was a decrease of 3.66 percent compared to exports April 2019.

• Cumulatively, West Sumatra exports January-May 2019 reached US$505.00 million or a decrease of 24.04 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

• The largest category of export goods in May 2019 are animal/vegetable fats & oils amounting to US$ 68.05 million, followed by the rubber group and rubber goods of US$23.34 million.

• Exports to the United States play a large role 22.45 percent of the total exports of West Sumatra and India 20.52 percent in January-May 2019.

• By sector, exports of processing industry products in May 2019 experienced a decrease of 4.39 percent compared to Export April 2019.

• Value of exports of goods originating from West Sumatra Province which was sent through several ports in Indonesia on May 2019 recorded US $98.30 million, down 6.71 percent compared to Exports in April 2019.

• Cumulatively the value of exports of goods originating from Sumatra West January-May 2019 reached US$519.92 million or decreased amounting to 21.76 percent compared to the same period last year previously.
