Abstract

• Inflation in Padang City occurred due to an increase in the index most expenditure groups. The biggest increase occurred in the education, recreation and sports expenditure group amounting to 1.44 percent, followed by an increase in the index in the group clothing expenditure was 0.70 percent. Inflation in the city of Bukittinggi This was also due to a large increase in the index expenditure group. The largest increase occurred in the group health expenditure was 0.30 percent followed by group clothing expenditure amounted to 0.21 percent.

• Inflation rate for the calendar year to March 2019 in Padang City And Bukittinggi City was 0.13 percent and -0.77 respectively percent. Padang city year-on-year inflation rate (March 2019 against March 2018) was 2.01 percent, and the city of Bukittinggi was 1.39 percent.

• Of the 23 (twenty three) IHK cities in Sumatra, 16 (sixteen) cities experienced inflation and 7 (seven) cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in the city of Meulaboh at 0.39 percent and The lowest was in the city of Dumai at 0.07 percent. Of the 7 (seven) cities Experiencing deflation, the highest occurred in Pangkal Pinang at 0.76 percent and the lowest in the cities of Batam and Palembang at 0.01 percent. Padang City ranks 5th (fifth) and Bukittinggi ranks 13th out of 16 (sixteen) cities that experienced this inflation in Sumatra. Nationally, the city of Padang ranks 10th (tenth) and Bukittinggi ranks 39th (thirtieth nine) out of 51 (fifty one) cities experiencing inflation.
