Abstract

• Deflation in Padang City occurred due to a decrease in the index in 3 (three) expenditure groups. The biggest decline occurred in transportation, communications and financial services expenditure groups amounting to 1.47 percent, followed by a decrease in the index in the materials group food by 0.12 percent. Inflation in Bukittinggi City was caused there was an increase in the index for all expenditure groups. Ascension The largest occurred in the education, recreation, and sports at 1.38 percent and followed by the expenditure group clothing by 1.06 percent.

• Inflation rate for the calendar year until August 2019 in Padang City and Bukittinggi City at 3.32 percent and 2.53 respectively percent. Padang City's year-on-year inflation rate (August 2019 to August 2018) amounted to 4.14 percent, and Bukittinggi City amounted to 4.86 percent.

• Of the 23 (twenty three) IHK cities in Sumatra, 8 (eight) cities experienced inflation and 15 (fifteen) cities experienced deflation. Inflation The highest occurred in Metro City at 0.41 percent and the lowest in Banda Aceh City was 0.07 percent. Meanwhile, deflation was the highest occurred in Batam City and Bengkulu City at 0.86 percent and the lowest occurred in Lubuklinggau City at 0.07 percent. City Padang ranks 13th (thirteenth) of all CPI cities which experienced deflation in Sumatra and occupied Bukittinggi City 4th (fourth) of all cities experiencing inflation in Sumatra. Nationally, Padang City is ranked 31st (three twenty-one) of 38 (thirty-eight) cities experiencing deflation and Bukittinggi City is in 27th (twenty-seventh) place 44 (forty four) cities experienced inflation.
