Abstract

• Inflation in Padang City occurred due to an increase in the index in most expenditure groups. The highest increase occurred in the education, recreation and sports expenditure group amounting to 1.66 percent. Deflation in the city of Bukittinggi is caused by decrease in index in 2 (two) expenditure groups. Decline The highest occurred in the food expenditure group amounting to 2.19 percent.

• Inflation rate for the calendar year to January 2019 in Padang City and Bukittinggi City is the same as inflation in January 2019 respectively inflation of 0.24 percent and deflation of 0.39 percent. Padang city year-on-year inflation rate (January 2018 against January 2019) amounting to 2.36 percent, and the city of Bukittinggi amounting to 1.83 percent.

• Of the 23 (twenty three) IHK cities in Sumatra, 18 (eighteen) cities experienced inflation and 5 (five) cities experienced deflation. Inflation The highest occurred in Tanjung Pandan City at 1.23 percent and The lowest occurred in Pematang Siantar City at 0.01 percent. Padang City ranks 12th (eleventh) out of 18 (eighth). twelve) cities experiencing inflation in Sumatra, and the city of Bukittinggi ranks 2nd (second) out of five cities experiencing deflation in Sumatra. Nationally, the city of Padang is ranked 55th (fifty five) of 73 (seventy three) experienced inflation and Bukittinggi City is 3rd (three) out of 9 (nine) cities experiencing deflation.
