Abstract

• Deflation in Padang City occurred due to a decrease in the index in 2 (two) expenditure groups. The biggest decline occurred in food ingredients group by 3.95 percent, followed by a decline The index in the education, recreation and sports group is 0.40 percent. Deflation in Bukittinggi City is caused by decrease in index in 2 (two) expenditure groups. Decline The largest occurred in the food ingredients group at 4.57 percent and followed by the housing, water, electricity, gas, and expenditure groups fuel by 0.32 percent.

• Inflation rate for the calendar year to September 2019 City Padang and Bukittinggi City respectively amounted to 2.34 percent and 1.40 percent. Padang City year-on-year inflation rate (September 2019 against September 2018) amounting to 3.52 percent, and Bukittinggi City amounting to 3.60 percent.

• Of the 23 (twenty three) IHK cities in Sumatra, 19 (nineteen) cities experienced deflation and 4 (four) cities experienced inflation. Inflation The highest occurred in Meulaboh City at 0.91 percent and the lowest occurred in Pangkal Pinang City at 0.09 percent. Meanwhile deflation The highest occurred in Sibolga City at 1.94 percent and the lowest in Tanjung Pinang City was 0.11 percent. Padang City occupied 5th (fifth) of all CPI cities experiencing deflation in Sumatra and Bukittinggi City are in fourth place all cities experiencing deflation in Sumatra. Nationally The cities of Padang and Bukittinggi are ranked 9th (ninth) and 5 (five) out of 70 (seventy) cities experiencing deflation.
