• In February 2019, the number of Labor Force in West Sumatra
as many as 2.69 million people, a decrease of 55.23 thousand people
from February 2018. Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK)
fell by 2.53 points.
• In the last year, TPT fell by 0.26 points. Viewed
from education level, TPT for Bachelor Diploma I/II/III
the highest among other levels of education, namely:
10.86 percent.
• The working population was 2.54 million people, down

• A total of 1.58 million people (62.29 percent) of the population work
in informal activities, the percentage fell by 1.85 points
compared to February 2018.
• Of the 2.54 million people who work, 9.00 percent are employed
underemployed category and 24.96 percent of workers
part time. In the past year, half unemployed
fell by 1.39 points and part-time workers fell
of 1.75 points.
