• Inflation in the city of Padang occurred due to an increase in the index
4 (four) expenditure groups. The biggest increase occurred in
transportation group by 3.72 percent, followed by an increase in the index
in the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.37
percent. Inflation in the city of Bukittinggi occurred due to an increase in the index
in 5 (five) expenditure groups. The biggest increase occurred
in the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.03
percent and followed by increases in equipment, equipment, and groups
routine household maintenance by 0.62 percent.
• The inflation rate for the calendar year to May 2020 Kota Padang
of 0.52 percent and the inflation rate of Bukittinggi City of 1.22
percent. Year on year inflation rate in Padang City (May 2020 against
May 2019) by 1.16 percent and Bukittinggi City by 2.21
percent.
• Out of 24 (twenty four) CPI cities in Sumatra, 22 (two)
twenty two) cities experienced inflation and 2 (two) cities experienced
deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan City at 1.20
percent and the lowest occurred in Tanjung Pinang City by 0.01
percent. The highest deflation occurred in Metro City by 0.35 percent
and the lowest occurred in Bandar Lampung by 0.29 percent.
Padang City ranks 4th (four) and Bukittinggi City
ranked 13 (thirteen) out of 22 (twenty two) cities
inflation in Sumatra. Nationally, Padang City ranks first
7 (seven) and Bukittinggi City ranks 22 (twenty)
two) out of 67 (sixty seven) cities experiencing inflation in
Indonesia.
