• In general, the Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in West Sumatra
in the third quarter of 2019 there was a decline in comparison
quarter II-2019. ITK in the third quarter of 2019 was 102.25
while in the second quarter of 2019 it was 129.17.
• The decrease in the ITK value is caused by a decrease in the variable index
forming ITK, namely household income, decreased from
137.58 to 107.83 while the effect of inflation on the total
household expenditure decreased from 113.83 in the quarter
II 2019 to 98.7 in the third quarter of 2019 and the volume/
consumption frequency fell from 128.58 in the second quarter of 2019 to
93.47 in the third quarter of 2019.
• The value of ITK in West Sumatra in the fourth quarter - 2019 is estimated
of 104.02, meaning the economy is optimistic in the fourth quarter of 2019.
• Optimistic consumer economic conditions in the fourth quarter of 2019
This is expected to occur due to the increase in income variables
future household (index = 107.52). This value can be
cover the decline in value on the planned purchase of durable goods
long (index = 97.9).
• ITK for the third quarter - 2019 for West Sumatra Province reached 102.25
which is above the national index (ITK=101.03) and is at
second out of ten provinces on the island of Sumatra.
• ITK for the fourth quarter - 2019 of West Sumatra Province is estimated
increased to 104.02, above the national index estimate
(ITK=103.8) and is in fourth place out of ten provinces
in the region of Sumatra Island.
