Abstract

• In general, the Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in West Sumatra in the fourth quarter of 2018 there was an increase when compared quarter III-2018. ITK in the fourth quarter of 2018 was 104.75 while in the third quarter of 2018 it was only 95.39.

• The increase in the ITK value is caused by the increase in the variable index The maker of ITK, namely household income, increases from 97.51 to 108.38 despite the influence of inflation on the total Household expenditure increased from 94.81 in the third quarter 2018 to 100.18 in the fourth quarter of 2018 but it is still relative low and the consumption volume/frequency variable rose from 91.07 to 101.88 in the fourth quarter of 2018.

• The ITK value in West Sumatra in the first quarter - 2019 is estimated Amounting to 102.35 means the trend will increase in the fourth quarter of 2018 Continues in the first quarter of 2019.

• Improvement in consumer economic conditions in the first quarter - 2019 This is expected to occur due to an increase in the income variable future households (index=114.33), resulting in a decline on plans to purchase durable goods (index=81.35) can covered.

• ITK in the fourth quarter - 2018 of West Sumatra Province reached 104.75 Which is below the national index (ITK=110.54) and is at Sixth out of ten provinces on the island of Sumatra.

• ITK in the first quarter – 2019 of West Sumatra Province is estimated to decline to 102.35, below the national index estimate (ITK=104.03) and is in second place out of ten provinces In the Sumatra Island region.
