Abstract

• West Sumatra NTP in December 2018 was recorded at 95.16 or down 0.71 percent compared to the previous month of 95.85 (November 2018). The price index received by farmers (It) decreased by 0.52 percent and the price index paid by farmers (Ib) increased by 0.20 percent.

• In December 2018 the NTP for each subsector was recorded at 97.60 for the food crops subsector (NTPP), 82.48 for the horticulture subsector (NTPH), 94.51 for the West Sumatra Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) in December 2018 for the crops subsector smallholder plantations (NTPR), 102.31 for the livestock subsector (NTPT), and 106.18 for the fisheries subsector (NTPN). The fisheries subsector is divided into two, namely the capture fisheries and aquaculture subsectors with NTP of 108.32 and 105.66 respectively.

• Regionally, in West Sumatra in December 2018 there was inflation in rural areas of 0.20 percent which was caused by inflation in all expenditure groups: foodstuffs group (0.36 percent), prepared food, drinks, cigarettes and tobacco groups (0.11 percent), housing group (0.00 percent), clothing group (0.20 percent), health group (0.04 percent), education, recreation & sports group (0.00 percent) and transportation & communication (0.03 percent).
